About A.L. Smith

My professional experience begins in May of 1983 after graduating with a B.S. degree from Indiana State University.  I immediately went to work for my father's CPA firm and was blessed to be able to work with him for 7 years until his retirement.

In order to earn a Cetified Public Accountant's designation you must pass the exam and practice for 3 years under the tutelage of a CPA.   And, soon thereafter I earned a specialty designation from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants entitled PFS (Personal Financial Specialist).

I was always interested in financial advisory services and it appeared to me that providing those services went hand-in-hand with the tax work I was doing as a CPA, which inevitably turned into other planning services, especially in the retirement area. These two disciplines have, I believe, given me a perspective different from that of a typical financial advisor with little or no tax background.  Since tax is such an integral part of any planning engagement, my 30 years of experience in tax work helps me guide my clients through the maze of tax law that can have such a negative affect on even the most financially sophisticated clients.

Ultimately, I realized the best way to help effect change in my clients' lives was by giving competent, comprehensive financial advice and, just importantly, helping them implement that advice.  Furthermore, by monitoring and making changes as conditions warrant we can give clients piece of mind that there executed plans have the best chance possible to reach their goals.

Finally, my personal relationships with my clients are of utmost importance to me.  The most successful work comes from having a shared value/goals view with my clients.  We don't - and won't - work with everyone, but for those we do work with we insist on having a close partnership, which we believe is a key ingredient in a long-lasting and jointly rewarding relationship.

 

About Sean Stuczynski

My career began in September of 1999.  After graduating from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree, I accepted a Financial Advisor position with Paine Webber, which is now UBS.  I earned my Series 7, 63 and State Insurance licenses.  I worked with many individual and business clients to help them achieve their investment goals.

In 2001 I was offered an opportunity to work on the Equities Division team for a branch office of a large Independent Broker Dealer, Market Share Financial, in March of 2001.  There I worked with over 500 Independent financial professionals in my 9 years at the firm.  I assisted them in building custom financial plans for their clients, I educated them on new financial products and services, and spoke at national conferences on subjects such as asset allocation, diversification and variable annuities.  In 2006, I was promoted to Managing Partner, Equities Division.  I held this position until 2010.

I was approached by A.L. Smith and invited to join the team at A2 Wealth Management.  A.L. was one of the Independent Representatives that I had worked with over that previous 9 year period.  I had always admired his business model and the relationships that he had with his clients.  Once asked  I jumped at the opportunity.  Our business is based on our client's goals and our relationships with them, plain and simple.  Before we will enter into a business relationship, we have to know you on a personal level.  We feel that is the cornerstone of a successful relationship.  Helping our clients/friends achieve their investing and retirement goals through proper asset allocation and diversification is my primary goal!  Asset allocation does not ensure a profit or guarantee against loss; it is a method used to manage risk.  In 2016, I earned my Accredited Investment Fiduciary License.

On a personal level, I have been lucky enough to have been married to my wife, Beth, since 2001.  We have one 11 year old son, Noah, who is our pride and joy.  When I am not in the office, you can find me on the golf course or spending time with family and friends.
